Set Long Term Goals.
When it comes to setting goals, most people fall short and give up if they don't reach them. And usually, the issue with this is that of impatience, and this leads to setting goals that are either unachievable over a short period of time, or simply unrealistic.
What is best to do is to set a long term goal, this could be twelve months, two years or even more such as five or ten years. It is important that you are absolutely realistic in setting them, and not aiming too high. Once you have set your long term goals, it is then best to break this down into segments or phases. So you may want to take a year's goal and break it into twelve, or in other words monthly phases. Decide what you need to do for each segment in order to achieve your long term goal overall. And when you do this, if it is realistic, extend your goal, so maybe turn a twelve-month goal into a 2-year one then have 2-month phases to achieve it.
And, don't forget, goals are not set in concrete, if you are doing the things you need to do in each phase but falling behind, look at adjusting your timescales. Either way, don't give up, as that is the only way you will fail, but be flexible and adapt to change.
