Okay. So now it's been over two weeks since I joined the Blurt writing platform. I want to be able to mention only good things about it. However, my unpleasant experiences with them doesn't make it at all easy to do so.
I won't deny that I have met a number of nice people on that writing platform, many who are also Hivers, Hivians, and Hiveans as well. Here's the problem. Five people decided to follow me. Three of them have unsubscribed to my Blurt channel in the short time that I have been with them. That's something that I have never experienced on the Hive writing platform or even on the Steem writing platform back when I was very active as a Steemian.
Could it be that my articles are boring to these three people who unfollowed me? Somehow I don't believe that that is the case. I guess they found out that I'm too controversial for them. After all, I pick at the Puritanical Establishment. I question societal norms. However, isn't that what decentralized writing platforms are for? To challenge conventions in the form of prose?
I'm not a quitter, and I am going to give Blurt another chance. Unfortunately, I have had to learn a great amount about that writing platform the hard way. There simply is not the sense of community there on that writing platform that you have here on the Hive writing platform.
Then again, it probably takes a while for the community on the Blurt writing platform to get to know any newbie that produces written content there. Time will only tell.
Meanwhile, the kinks in their system that you encounter while composing written content are ridiculous. You end up spending additional liquid Blurt units to correct mistakes in your articles that their system messed up.
I know that every writing platform has their fair share of growing pains. However, the Blurt writing platform has had three whole years to get everything right. It's like the crazy stuff that I used to experience on the Steem writing platform. The Hive writing platform has never seemed to undergo those same problems, and you never seem to run out of Resource Credits to keep on posting articles there either.
I sound as though I'm really blowing my top. Perhaps because I feel like blowing my top. Anyhow, I will continue posting on the Blurt writing platform. If I run out of enough liquid Blurt units to keep on posting, then I will know that I have a very grim future on the Blurt writing platform. If my circumstances begin to look good on that writing platform, then I'll likely stick around to find out how I can continue to prosper there.
I just thought of something. I don't have to worry about having made any typographical errors in this article, because I have enough Resource Credits to come back into this article and correct any mistakes. On the Blurt writing platform, I feel uneasy about editing any of my bloops and blunders.
When the system there itself on the Blurt writing platform is to blame for any of those same bloops and blunders, then it's time for the people in charge either to fix the problem or for me to abandon ship. It makes me think of the lyrics of this same song below.
The Song Titled "I'd Rather Leave While I'm In Love" By Rita Coolidge
I'll continue to give it all a chance. Whether I will still be posting on the Blurt writing platform by next year remains to be seen. I do like the idea of being able to continue to earn money on my articles after seven days in the manner that "offgridlife" told me. Wish me luck. That is, if I'm able to get past my skepticism about the Blurt writing platform.
