“Another Brick in the Wall” is one of Pink Floyd’s most known songs and is a very interesting video. It talks about indoctrination and the complexities of modernity—a common theme in this groups music.
“Time” discusses the change of time, the major variable that makes our world have differences, without time nothing would change—even throwing a ball up in the air would never fall down without change in time, it wouldnt even be thrown in the air because things would not change.
“Wish You Were Here” is another hit that discusses how one person might really want the company of another.
Another interesting tune “High Hopes” discusses the nature of life and anticipation.
Not sure how they pulled it off, but Pink Floyd had an interesting show captured on video in Pompeii in Italy where a volcano covered an ancient Roman town. I’d love to do a show there as I imagine many others would wonder if one can still get access. “Echoes” is one interesting song there.
Discussing indoctrination, time, alienation, loneliness was not all that Pink Floyd saught to discuss about your world. The also discussed the fungible medium of exchange that intermediaters much of our world in “Money.”
A great song to chill out to is “Comfortably Numb” that discusses alienation and escapism of how one might try to deal with their mortality and lack of life satisfaction.
