Booster is where you start when you are new and awesome, to build yourself up and gain important attention to be seen by the masses!
We refund a lot of low ballers these days due to changes in our system that now require minimum 1 SBD/STEEM to register or stack your bids using booster.
At some time we had to scale in order to meet our customers. Our 2.4 hours voting windows became so populated by lower quality content and comments so the only reasonable thing was to set the minimum limit higher.
Booster Megavote, Sponsorship and Idle mode
For our biggest users, we have more easter eggs and curation trails joining the @frontrunner trail in order to give our big promotors the best service we can get them for the price they pay.
Sponsorship is something we do after an agreement or sporadic when we see something or are recommended something from the community on @steemspeak discord.
Idle mode lets everyone purchase votes, minimum 1 SBD/STEEM and no maximum however Booster and Frontrunner have a minimum of 800.000 SP and a maximum of 2 million SP so at least check what the vote value is before you purchase.

However, too much proof of n00b brain is going on in the comment section, and that will be the next thing to be stripped from booster, so enjoy it while you can.
Giving Whitelisted High REP accounts more power over Booster
In the process of scaling and provide excellent curation to posts that are worth it, we may implement a system that allows for preselected high rep accounts to counter a paid vote. Since this would put pressure on individuals it has been designed to randomize and the group is not aware of their consequences. We may implement this in Q3 or Q4.
We really want you to succeed, and if you make better posts, the better you help yourself!
We can only boost your content to trending, where it will be seen by everyone. If your post is great, meaning your thumbnail, your headline and your first sentence makes people click on it - those are the customers we see flying by the rest.
The other customers we have, are those who make a short shitpost "to try", and because their bid is so low, and the quality of post is garbage, they never get to trending but receive most of their money back and maybe a small little bonus because @Booster is most of the time profitable".
