Here are some shots I got on a walk today for this #beautifulsunday and #bouldersunday by @shasta
Here is a moss covered stone that is looking nice an vibrant against the gray leaves.
It is not quite boulder sized but the moss was worth taking a photo of.
These are some limestone boulders randomly laying around. I suspect they were placed there by the farmer who used to own this land that was later turned into a preserve.
Here are a few more boulders that have an orange chalk inside them.
Here's a closeup of the orange chalk. I find bits of this everywhere and it actually works really well for drawing on concrete etc.
Now for some more moss. It is really bright and vibrant in the spring sunlight.
This fuzzy plant was growing out of the moss it almost resembles a lambs ear but the leaves are a bit too thin.
A patch of these flowers was growing in the preserve's woods. The seeds must have found their way from someone's yard for it to be growing wild in the middle of the forest.
Nearby on a dead log I noticed this velvet mite crawling around. They look fake with their bright red color. Someone could make a larger plush toy out of these guys maybe throw pillow sized.
Finally these little yellow flowers were in bloom. Quite a few of them had these neon green wasps on them busy collecting pollen. It was a bit cold out so the wasps were sluggish enough for me to get a few shots of them.
Happy #bouldersunday and #beautifulsunday
