Manny Pacquiao VS. Kieth Thurman

Manny Pacquiao, 62-7-2 39KOs added yet more silverware to his ever growing extensive collection last Saturday night in Las Vegas when he beat and dethroned the former undefeated welterweight king Kieth (one time) Thurman 29-1 22KOs.

Pacquiao got of to a blistering start, when in the first round he hurt Thurman with a right hand that sent him sprawling to the canvas. Thurman took the 8 count, but still looked unsteady on his feet. It was not the last time that Thurman was hurt in the fight, he was wobbled again in the eighth, and again in the tenth with an incredible body shot.

The fight was not one sided, as Thurman did have his moments and even dominated at certain points in the fight. It was a close fought affair and could be considered for fight of the year, and a rematch would not be out of the question. In the end the judges made the correct decision and declared the correct winner.
