This fight could potentially lead to some awkward and uncomfortable family meals and get togethers in the not too distant future for both fighters. Gonzalez is the brother of Shakur's long time girlfriend Jajaira's Gonzalez.
On paper this looks like a big ask for Stevenson, going against a guy who has almost twice the amount of fights and almost double the amount of wins on his resume, but as you watch more and more of boxing and learn the ins and outs of the business side of things, one thing becomes clear, promoters very rarely take risks when lining up opponents for future cash cows, and indeed only take the risk when they have lined up a very lucrative contact, or are getting a shot at one of the major world titles. So although the chance of an upset is always present, its extremely unlikely, I wouldn't put my money on it.
Stevenson was impressing the boxing public even before turning pro, and has only built on that base since joining the paid ranks, defeating his opponents in dominant fashion, this fight should pose more of a challenge for Shakur and answer some of the unanswered questions that still surround the young rising fighter, but it should be another W on the younger mans record and propel him to even greater future challenges and achievements.
