What's up everyone?
I'm going to go into a little bit about myself with this entry.
As the title says, I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder two years ago. What is that you ask? Well, I'm going to tell you.
Borderline personality disorder is a mental illness. People with borderline personality disorder experience intense feelings of anger, depression, and anxiety that can last a few hours to days at a time.
Mine manifests in apathy, depression, and anxiety. I also have my fair share of angry episodes.
It is treated with a varying degree of anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds.
It is also treated with DBT therepy.
I have tried numerous pharmaceuticals, but the only thing that has truly been working for me is DBT.
I am currently four months into my DBT skills training and therapy sessions. Things are better with the skills I have been learning but, I know I still have a long way to grow.
I have come to accept that I have BPD and it will be a constant thing I have to battle. However, with DBT skills, I feel I have more tools in my toolbelt to deal with my emotions.
Thank you for reading everyone!
I hope you find today a good day for you. Use your skills and make the most of your moments in life.
