British Telecom's infrastructure is transforming. The growing demand for broadband connections with the arrival of 5 G services has led the British telecommunications giant to review its infrastructure to make it more effective and manageable.
British Telecom's infrastructure is moving to the cloud The platform that BT is building is designed to bring together all the services provided and the apps within a virtualized framework within the business. Voice telephony, mobile core and radio access, television, IP and ISP services will be incorporated into a common structure to simplify activities and decrease both operating costs and network services time-to-market.
BT chose to depend on the alternatives provided by Juniper Networks to realize the project. In particular, Contrail Networking will use end-to-end dynamic networking strategies and workload control in the cloud, while cloud activities will be managed via AppFormix, which ensures visibility in multi-cloud settings. The selection for the spine and leaf structure fell on the switches of the QFX series.
