Problem Statement
Community engagement and volunteering often face challenges such as lack of awareness about local opportunities, difficulty in finding relevant projects, and inefficient tracking of volunteer contributions.
Idea
Our idea is to create a platform that connects volunteers with local community projects and non-profits, making it easier for people to find, join, and track volunteering opportunities in their area.
Solution
Neighbourly is a web platform that allows users to:
Find Local Opportunities: Browse volunteer opportunities tailored to their interests and availability.
Connect with Organizations: Access detailed profiles of local non-profits and community organizations.
Register and Track Volunteering: Sign up for events and track their volunteer hours.
Stay Informed with Event Calendars: View upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.
Map Integration for Easy Navigation: Locate event venues and project sites easily.
Tech Stacks
Frontend: React.js
Backend: Node.js, Express.js
Database: MongoDB, Mongoose
Hosting: Vercel

Our Overall Experience of the Event
Participating in this event was an incredible experience for our team. We faced several challenges, such as handling maximum response time limits on Vercel, data modeling issues, and connecting the frontend with the backend. However, through teamwork and perseverance, we overcame these hurdles. This event provided us with an opportunity to push our boundaries, learn new technologies, and collaborate effectively. We are proud of the project we have built and are excited about its potential impact on our community.
Thank you for your support and interest in Neighbourly!
