Have you ever come across those who spend a great percentage of their money just to look rich? All that matters to them is to create a false image of whom they are? They do all they can to look rich, but bother less about becoming rich. Do you have a friend or relative like that? How would you describe such a person?
For as long as I am concerned, they are living a pathetic and miserable life.
What it cost them to fake it, is enough to help them start something that will eventually make them rich. They are their own worst enemies because they have deceived and lied to themselves. And no man is as miserable as the man lying to himself.
However, the main question now is;
why do they fake it?
Pride, peer pressure, societal norms, maintaining status quo or impressing someone.
Pride make people assume positions higher than who they are. They don't want to be seen as they really are, so they fake it.
Peer pressure and societal norms make people want to keep up with things they know is falsehood just because they don't want to be seen as lesser.
Maintaining status quo:This is the most common reason why people live in falsehood. They were once rich, but somehow, things changed and they are no longer as rich as they used to be. However, because they don't want anyone to know what is happening, they start living in falsehood.
Impressing someone: People spend a lot just because they want to create a wealthy impression of themselves before another person.
Conclusion
Riches don't come when you spend your money on the wrong things. When your priorities are wrong there is no way you can suddenly become rich. Perhaps, except you win a jackpot, which rarely happens.
Also, a time will come when you will run out of funds to fake it, and only then will you realize that all the time and money spent faking it, was actually enough enough to make you rich.
