We are seeing a #NewSteem attitude take hold across the platform. We even have #NewBernie. :)
Some days #oldsteem tests the water and tries to raise its ugly head.
No one said #NewSteem is perfect it's a work in progress and it has less to do with the hardfork and more to do with a new culture, new vision and letting go of the old.
Across the platform, most have embraced NewSteem and realize it's a culture change as much as anything else. Not everyone will make the cut. While many love to talk about retention, we do not want to retain every user. We want to retain the best, the most talented, those who bring good energy, and some will fall away.
Now we need to take #NewSteem outside of Steem. For over three years we have focused on our own community, who is good, who is bad, who is voting the right way... I mean how lame is it for our largest stakeholders who can easily influence things to earn money making posts off criticizing their own investment.
Most who are actively involved in crypto have likely seen the name Steem, they may or may not know what it is. Those who do recognize the name think of Dan. Others think of the layoffs. We can change that now. Rebranding is expensive and time-consuming and takes coordinated efforts, a budget and more. NewSteem is a way of rebranding without as much effort.
The message is:
Everything you think you know about Steem has changed.

- Improved User Interfaces like SteemPeak.com
- Tribes and Community Options (SteemEngine and Scot Bot)

If Bitcoin is the ability to transfer funds without third-party intervention.
Steem is the ability to transfer information and entertainment without third-party intervention.
We have the ability to disrupt Mainstream Media News and empower our citizen journalists. Imagine real people where news is breaking jumping on 3speak to report what they are seeing, with or without political slant.
We have the ability to disrupt the hold on Entertainment. We see youtube falling into controlled distribution of mainstream programming. While we still have the ability to decentralize content. Imagine Song Writers and Poets publishing their songs to their fans on a music-centric app. Imagine being able to register your paid copy of the song into the blockchain so copies would be obvious.
We have the ability to use the blockchain in an educational system. Imagine an app that has students follow an online syllabus, perhaps watch educational videos, take an online test, track the results, receive a certificate. It's very possible
Entertainment is where we started and what we have put the most effort into. We can discuss and exchange everything from blogs and vlogs, novels to songs, art and games. No publisher to please, just a direct link to your audience. It's your job to build the Audience, what are you waiting for?
Entertainment is also Gambling and Porn areas we already have some very young working models for. Imagine those growing to have a large following.
It's time to Imagine and Communicate the Possibilities of Steem.
When Bitcoin hits an All Time High and people are looking for The Pulse of Crypto, we need to be there.
If you want to continue to focus on the issues of Steem and Personalities I can't stop you. If you hope is easily dashed or you live in fear about losing your investment, I can't help you.
I'm busy focusing on those who can see the possibilities of emerging technology in its toddler years.
A few people are starting to see it, culture matters, every corporation knows this. Focus on the possibilities and spend as much time talking about that as you do worrying about who voted for what.
NewSteem is a choice, it's mindset, it's a place we are heading it's way bigger than blog rewards.
Talk about possibilities not problems.
