Hello friends!
For a long time I haven't written any poem or story here. You too might have got bored of reading my long crapola posts everyday! So today, I'm trying to make your life easier because you will have to read fewer words than usual 😊.
Fortunately, @the1ramp is hosting its first poetry contest and interestingly, there is no specified theme or rules for writing. What can get better than that! So I'm trying to write a short poetry (so to speak). Previously, I've tried Haiku in some of my posts. So this time, I'm gonna try a little longer form ...no, no, not very long one. I'm just gonna write a limerick 😊
So here you go:

Mother’s Day
Mothers in those times, still had their day.
No hope of a gift or a cake,
For none ever tried to make.
Until corporates created this commercial day!
By the way, I've never written a limerick before. So this is my first attempt for a limerick. I'm not sure whether these lines qualify as a limerick or not. But why should I bother as that's the judge's job to decide 😊.
If it goes well, I may try to write longer poems combining multiple limericks and if not, I'll still try again anyway. That's how poets are supposed to, na! 😉
- But do lemme know, what do you think of this limerick?
