Hi Steemians and Cabalens,
Twenty one more days before Christmas now that sounds explosive to me just like our prompt for today which is Paputok This term means firecrackers. Today I will be showing you the firecrackers I knew from way back. Some younger generation here in the Philippines may not have heard or seen some of these and I thought this post would help.
Here are the simplest and less explosive firecrackers I know.
Pulling bomb : the yellow rods. You pull the thread and a little cracking sound will be heard but these aren't really bombs.
Labentador : the brown triangle. You light the wick and should immediately throw it away as this produces a mild to moderate explosion. This is also called a five-star.
Watusi : the small red rod. You scratch it on to a rough surface until it starts cracking. Probably my favorite as a kid because it's easy to use but poisonous when ingested
Bawang : the brown ball. Bawang means garlic I guess the name was inspired by its shape which looks like a garlic. This is stronger than a labentador and could be deadly.
Perminante : the red sheet with blisters. You open each blister to get the powder then hit it with something solid to produce a cracking sound. Not really my type 😁
These are the simplest firecrackers and earliest ones that I knew. There are new and more explosive ones but we no longer use any aside from those that were declared safe to use. Thanks for dropping by hope you like my drawing.
Cheers
