Hello all. It's another contest again. That seems to be all i do these days. This contest is organized by @emjoe celebrating over a hundred days on steemit. I am so getting there.
Of the three topics given to write on, i would choose the second; my most cherished moment on steemit.
A few moments come to mind but the striking one would be winning the first ever contest i would enter on steemit! I think i made the submission on the last day. It was unexpected.
Joining steemit on the behest of my friend really is a decision i cannot regret.
I have enjoyed being on steemit, reading a lot of posts on various topics of interests( i even discovered new interests). I found wonderful stories and i love stories the best. I have learnt a lot also.
Still, it is undeniable that getting visibility is hard as a newbie. I expected much, I would spend hours polishing an article before posting and at the end it would earn just a few cents.
So i was advised to join contests. The first one i joined that i had to make a post on was held by @googuygreg,St. Patrick's Day Writing Competition.
It was about writing a story about a leprechaun whose gold was stolen and i did. I was a bit discouraged when i read the other entries after posting mine but my slogan is "hope springs eternal". So i chose to believe in myself.
Imagine my shock and happiness when i checked my wallet a few days later and saw my prize. I was excited...you would think i won the lottery that day. I won first prize from my first contest!
I must tell you joining contests is fun, i get to let my imagination run wild, creating stories from simple words or pictures. As a
voracious reader, the opportunity given to write is thrilling. I prefer to think of it as a give back. After all the stories i have digested, it is only fair i make another reader happy.
I really hope to win this contest. I would add it to my list of cherished memories on steemit.
Let's keep steeming guys!
Thanks for reading.
