Yup That Just Happened 🤦‍♂️

Long story short, work was slow and I’m out early morning taking pictures of Christmas lights. Crouching in the middle of the street to take a picture 3 cops(third is hidden behind the first) roll up on me, they had been watching for awhile as I wandered around downtown...

No it wasn’t me getting run over they were worried about 😅 it was the Cannabis Dispensary I was trying to take a picture of 🤦‍♂️ they started by saying I shouldn’t be walking around smoking then asked where I got it from. I simply pointed at the dispensary beside me and both officers got out of their car to investigate while the one in the van kept talking to me.

The officer in the Van was kind enough stating it’s been a hectic night and that these dispensaries are prime targets for theft. “It’s like untraceable money, anyone lingering around the dispensaries are treated like criminals” he stated... I was then instructed to move along when the other officers returned... WTF I thought, I’m just taking pictures!

Been awhile since I dealt with the law 🤦‍♂️ I wasn’t so keen on arguing with a couple joints still in my pocket and them already stating having watched me “smoking in public”. Totally threw me off my photography game 🤨 I grabbed a coffee and here now I sit at Tim Horton writing about the experience. One thing I’ll take away from this is.....

It’s good to know they finally understand the value of legal weed 👌
