A bit of a rant 🗣️
Holy shit, have you ever noticed someone that is an idiot behind the wheel? Surely we all do and most likely even we were bad drivers at some point or another. We all reach different peaks of driving skills through our years on the road. Most stick to the road. Others venture off-road and few make it to an actual track.
That last part is why I go absolutely nuts when I see somebody with a car that is meant to be on a race track and they are driving it like a bitch. They are either going slow as hell, incapable of using common driving logic, or worse, driving like a complete maniac and causing a wreck. I see it all too often and I wish I could flip a switch and make sure they only drive turds from now on.
Being somebody that has a natural affinity towards being in control of a four-wheeled death machine, I can easily spot an aggressive car. All that aggression and yet some still choose to be defensive drivers who are afraid to push the limits of the marvelous vehicle they have.
Let me give you an example, I saw an old woman smoking a cigarette while driving who was in a new Toyota 86. Like why? That is a fucking drift machine and there is no way she is even going past 70 mph ever and damn sure isn't sliding around a corner.
Another prime example is these old men who have brand-new Porsches. I know their heart can't take the adrenaline that REALLY driving brings. Sure, there are some badass old men like my papaw and uncle who love to truly drive, it's rare though. Most are taking that thing a few miles in stop-and-go traffic, parking it somewhere visible to show off their wealth, and then driving back home and tucking it away safely inside some state-of-the-art garage.
You may wonder why all of this annoys me so much. It is because I would do nearly anything to be behind the wheel of some of these cars. Yet here I am waiting for my moment. Luckily, my car is fun to drive, but it is far from the fastest on the road. Speed isn't everything, but I also have to factor in how old my car is now. I am less tempted to drive aggressively knowing that the more I push it, the sooner more things break.
I'm sure I won't even be thinking about this type of thing once I have the new car of my dreams. Until then, I will wish for the ability to smack one face of a driver as I described and all drivers of the same creed would feel the impact on their face in unison.
