It's Saturday again, and that means my favorite thing about the Hooman/Feline calendar: CATURDAY!
So bring out your best cat and kitten photos; show us all the cats in your life!
Watching the world go by from a favorite perch...
How do you stay inspired?
I have been thinking about inspiration, and how we stay inspired even when things — perhaps — aren't unfolding as we had hoped or expected.
I know a lot of the Hoomans of Steemit seem to have become less and less active these days, and I watch my own feed getting thinner and thinner every day.
Yesterday, I spent a little time with the list of people I follow and was surprised (and saddened) by just how many suddenly stopped participating here, one day.
Maybe we all read different meanings into what happens, but it suggests to me that a lot of people have only ever been here "for the money," and with the price of Steem in a perpetual decline, they have simply lost interest.
Sad Statistics?
I sometimes go look at the weekly site statistics posts created by @penguinpablo who's one of Steemit's long-time contributors.
Sad to see that the number of posts, comments and votes have been in a long slow decline since this spring. Seems like the downward curve is walking hand-in-hand with the price of Steem.
Some might dismiss this and point to how some of the dApps are thriving, but isn't the bottom line that they ALL end up posting to the Steem blockchain? And so, don't the numbers still show that everything is declining?
But enough about that!
I try to find my inspiration in the fact that the rewards pool is being divided among fewer people, and thus the share for each of us who is still active is actually increasing. At least I'd like to think so, even if it hasn't really shown in my results, as of yet.
Well, that's enough for the gloom and doom!
Hope you are all having a marvelous day! I'm off to do the Caturday rounds!
