Hey guys!! Its a brand new day and another #celestialchallenge day initiated by @sirknight . This Knight is really doing great things here on Steemit. He's someone I admire and look up to even though I am only few days old on this platform. @steemchurch is another great idea of his and I'm pretty positive that this dream of uniting the Christains even here on Steemit is going to be a reality.
Today happens to be sunday and it really is awesome that the theme of today is light!
Light
The bible says in the book of Genesis 1:3
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
In the beginning, the world was void and filled with darkness, then God commanded light to come forth. The universe came to being on the proclamation of God.
But what exactly is this light?
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1
Recall that in the beginning, God called light. And here in John 1:1, we are being told that the beginning was the Word. That Word was the pronouncement of light and that Word was God.
Now, we are also made to understand from Scriptures that Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12
Jesus Christ, being God himself told us while he was on earth that whosoever follows him automatically becomes light!
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden."
Matthew 5:14
We, the Christains are the light of the world.
As a believer, you should understand your place in this world. You are supposed to lead an exampleary life. You are supposed to be the light that will guide others.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
Dear Brethren, as you go about your business today, know ye that you are the light of the world and as such, you should act as light ought to act. You should illuminate the path for others to walk in. Only then can you fulfil the great commision assigned to us by Jesus Christ before he ascended to heaven.
