This is a true story that I will share in three parts. As today's topic is on nature, I will focus on the part of story involving nature. And I m grateful for @sirknight for this great platform where I can share a true story of love and struggle. I will be sharing this story as I was told by the surviving person, from his prospective.
So, This story is about a man who was kidnapped from his hometown. He was taken in a remote area in Baluchistan, province of Pakistan. In his twenty years of hardship he tried to escape the area many times but he got caught every time, and was punished for it. This one time, he and 3 of his companions managed to escape. I will share this part briefly on Monday when our challenge will be Darkness. So please follow if you like this story.
I had made almost 9 attempts to get out of there. I am still alive because I was not very courageous. I always feared for my life. Four of my fellows were brutally killed while trying to escape. We were being treated like animals there. I didn't took me long to understand that those killed were actually free now. And my fear has kept me a prisoner. We always have new people coming, The people running the place kidnap people from all around the Pakistan and take them here. These new comers are always emotional and they mostly try to escape. Till this time no body had successfully escaped to my knowledge.
During this period of 20 years we switched the prisons for 6 times. So, this time a teenager was there, His name was Zeaan. I was famous there as I had made some attempts to escape before. Zeaan was a brave person and he believed that he could escape. I didn't actually believe him when he approached me first, I thought of him as a new comer and I was certain he will get himself killed in his attempt.
He was reaching everyone who he trusted and who had attempted to escape before. In about fifteen days we all were on same page. The guards were not allowed to communicate with us, and they we didn't even had a common language. These guards were not professionals. There duty was to count us and lock us in the cells late night. In morning again count is and send us to field.
Some guards there were rapists. They used to rape the young new comers. One of them was a softhearted person who did rape but was not cruel. He mostly bring cigarettes to his victims. We moved to cell where one of his victim was imprisoned. We added him to our escape plan. The job of that guy was to be friends with that guard. He did it. It went for four days. The guard now daily comes to our cell, opens it and take the guy somewhere.
One day when the guard came and opened the cell door Zeaan hit him in his head with a rock so hard that he didn't even scream and fell down. That was our chance, We had some ways in mind. So we kept on going. The main problem was to cross the walls. those were huge walls, with fences. We threw our sheets on the fences. And started climbing them. It was our lucky day, no guard saw us. Two of us Climbed and next was my turn. I didn't look behind and crossed the area. After me one more crossed it. And then, firing started.. the one on the wall jumped and broke his leg. We became selfish and left him and the rest of us there.
We were now in woods. We had no idea which direction to go. We had no food, no shelter and no direction. For now bigger enemy was Nature. We decided one direction and kept going that way. We were extremely cautious. We kept eyes on each other and started looking for water or rivers. As that was the only place where the enemy could not track our foot prints. We encountered many wild animals in the night. But we stuck together and didn't poked any of them.
The next day we had no food to eat. We had found a water stream, we drank some water and continued walking. Two days had past. Now some of us started fainting out. We had no experience hunting anything. We tried hunting but were unsuccessful. The best thing to do was to be on our way. I fainted out on the night of second day. I thank God for the company I had. They didn't left me in that jungle.
Third day, in the morning we heard a distant gunshot. We were shocked. It was not possible, How could they find us.? One of us suggested that we should go towards the sound. And Zeaan agreed to it. I was against it and I told them to go the other direction. But I had to agree to when all three of them were on same page. We started walking to the sound when we saw some people circling around us and pointing guns at us.
They were Pakistan Army. That moment was the greatest moment of my life. Somebody had pointed the gun at me and I was over the moon. I bet we were the only people who were shedding tears of joy on gun point. We explained everything to the army. They took us in custody and fed us. They held us for five days, planned their strategy and raided the place.
900 people were released. And this was just one camp. God knows how many camps were there. Then I was sent my home in an army van. I was very happy excited to see my family. My parents, my wife and my son.
