He estado en estos días pensando sobre algo muy importante para mi y quiero compartirlo con ustedes.
I have been thinking about something very important to me these days and I want to share it with you.
Reaching the stage of retirement should not by default be seen as the twilight of our life. I think that on the contrary it represents a new stage to start experiences, discover opportunities and to dedicate more time to ourselves after having formed a family and all the effort that this represents.
Llegar a la etapa de la jubilación no debería ser visto por defecto como el ocaso de nuestra vida. Pienso que por el contrario representa una nueva etapa para iniciar experiencias, descubrir oportunidades y para dedicarnos más tiempo a nosotros después de haber formado una familia y todo el esfuerzo que ello representa.
Unfortunately we are faced with social labels, with the paradigms that in some countries confine people in their golden years to live with many limitations for only the age factor. Although physically our strength has been diminished, it does not seem fair or intelligent to me that our experiences and learnings are thrown into the trash can. We can still contribute morally and economically to our families and to society in general.
Lamentablemente nos enfrentamos a etiquetas sociales, a los paradigmas que en algunos países confinan a las personas en sus años dorados a vivir con muchas limitaciones por sólo el factor edad. Si bien físicamente nuestras fuerzas se han visto mermadas no me parece justo ni inteligente que nuestras experiencias y aprendizajes se tiren al cesto de la basura. Todavía moral y económicamente podemos aportar a nuestras familias y a la sociedad en general.
It is common at this stage in my life to hear all kinds of recommendations, generally well intentioned, about what not to do. It is intended to build a bubble to protect us from the least. Es común en esta etapa de mi vida escuchar todo tipo de recomendaciones, generalmente bien intencionadas, sobre lo qué no debemos hacer. Se nos pretende construir una burbuja para protegernos de lo más mínimo. De tanta protección a veces hasta comer palomitas de maíz (cotufas) pierde su placer al estar exenta de los sabores de la sal y el aceite.
I must confess that thanks to the encouragement of my grandson I have plunged into an interesting adventure, a journey for my stranger that has been well worth it. Thanks to him I have found in Hive a space to reinvent myself, to learn from a world until recently unimagined.
Debo confesar que gracias al estímulo de mi nieto me he sumido en una aventura interesante, un camino para mi desconocido que bien ha valida la pena. Gracias a él he encontrado en Hive un espacio para reinventarme, para aprender de un mundo hasta hace poco inimaginado.
This has prompted me to want to eat popcorn again with all its flavor and smell, which metaphorically means exploring a space for exchanging knowledge and relationships with people totally unknown to me at this age.
Esto me ha impulsado a querer comer nuevamente palomitas de maíz con todo su sabor y olor, lo cual metafóricamente significa explorar un espacio de intercambio de conocimiento y relaciones con personas totalmente inéditas para mi a esta edad.
All this has prompted me to develop new skills that, due to a generational issue and the reality of my country before, I could not achieve. Obviously at this age I do not aspire to be an expert but at least to achieve a certain degree of autonomy.
Todo esto me ha impulsado a desarrollar nuevas habilidades que por un tema generacional y que por la realidad de mi país antes no pude lograr. Evidentemente a esta edad no aspiro a ser una experta pero si al menos a lograr cierto grado de autonomía.
What motivates me the most is that thanks to Hive I have been able to achieve some recognitions, virtual friends until now and also small financial achievements. This prompts me to continue striving to present topics of interest related to gastronomy or as my grandson says in my niche.
Lo que más me motiva es que gracias a Hive he podido alcanzar algunos reconocimientos, amigos hasta ahora virtuales y también pequeños logros económicos. Esto me impulsa a continuar esforzándome por presentar temas de interés relacionados con la gastronomía o como dice mi nieto en mi nicho.
