Cuenta la leyendo que un día el cielo se tiñó de rojo, la luna estaba diferente. En el bosque, un lobo alfa solitario que solía aullarle a la luna por melancolía en la oscuridad, se enamoro de la luna roja, hermosa como rubíes. El lobo pensó que jamás podría alcanzarla, que la luna jamás le amaría. El lobo se equivocó. Esa noche todo fue diferente, la luna le habló, correspondía dichos sentimientos que el lobo sentía por ella y por eso pinto la oscuridad de rojo apasionado, rojo de amor, solo para él. Un día el lobo quiso volver a la soledad que solía tener, por dudas, por confusión y temor a ser herido junto a su gran amor. Esa noche la luna como siempre luego de aquella confesión de amor, salió a teñir la noche de amor para el lobo, pero el nunca llegó. Lo que el lobo nunca supo fue que la luna le amaba con locura, le amaba con pasión desenfrenada y que mandaría a enlutar el cielo hasta verlo volver. Desde ese día el cielo se quedo sin estrellas, volvió a ser oscuro y la luna se encargaría de cambiar, para hacer de su espectáculo nocturno el más hermoso al ver al lobo volver y que nunca más se marche, pues la luna será mejor, distinta, el cielo más hermoso y la noche más romántica para ellos y su gran amor.
