After Killing numerous Whales and Dolphins, the Vancouver Aquarium announced that they will not have anymore cetaceans on display. For years protesters have wanted the cetaceans not be on display at the Vancouver aquarium, because many of the whales that were once rescued remained as an entertainment fixture to generate money for aquarium.
Sadly it was not until the 5th death in 2017, that the local government stepped in and investigated then pressured the aquarium to make changes.
The Aquarium explains: “Rescued animals are transferred to the Marine Mammal Rescue Centre – located outside Stanley Park – for critical, short-term care, with the aim to rehabilitate and release back to the wild." Should a rescued cetacean need ongoing care, the animal care team will identify an appropriate long-term facility and work to arrange for a transfer of the patient.”
You might wonder why i am talking about this well, it's simple, every time a cetacean died the autopsy was always negative and they did not know what caused the death. Well that is some bullshit and bold face lie. More than 5 of them died, clearly something is wrong an went wrong.
Sadly if the aquarium did not look at the financial bottom line, truly updated their facility infrastructure and released the marine animals after rehabilitation then, they could have prevented the marine life from dying.
