As much as I liked his performance, Jean Claude Van Damme lacked the cold, menacing threat as a villain I've come to respect as seen in films such as NO RETREAT NO SURRENDER, BLACK EAGLE and REPLICANT. Here, as international terrorist, Jean Vilain, he comes off like a parody of himself with a little Colonel Guile of STREET FIGHTER in the mix.
