A lot of people want to make the world a better place and are willing to give money, but they don't know whom to trust.
There are lots of churches and NGOs that manage these funds, but once you have donated there, the money disappears in a black hole.
We get some papers from these organisations, but we either have to trust them or send trustworthy people to the places they work.
This is not very effective and demotivates a lot of potential donators. And when we hear about the scandals of the big organisations we are totally out of that game.
So a lot of help, that could be given to the needy people, is not done. That's a pity!

Imagine, there would be a lot of eyes, that watches what you want to see.
Imagine, there were people, that write blogs about the situation on the spot and track the work, that the NGOs do.
And these bloggers are paid by the crowd and not by central parties.
Or they are paid by yourself or your bank interests.
This is all possible now.
How does it work?
I have listed two scenarios:
Scenario A "Donating and paying the bloggers"
Scenario B "Donating and staking money"
In both scenarios the donator also can profit by earning reputation and getting mining rewards from others.
Now let us compare which scenario fits better to the donators profile:
Two examples on the Steem blockchain:
The AGFA-Project:
There is a footballer, Andre Gray, who wants to train children in Africa. He gets some support from his fans and they want to see what he is doing.
In his area there are some bloggers, that write or film his activities, for example here.
In this special example the author of this movie, @Yohan2on, got Steemdollars in the value of 62 US Dollars. Usually it is about 6 USD, which is still a lot for people in these countries.
This money was given to @Yohan2on by the stakeholders of Steem.
When you search for this project (https://steemit.com/trending/agfacademy), you get hundreds of hits, all written by bloggers, that are paid by the crowd. This gives you a really good overview of the project.
Teamuganda:
I have donated some money to the account @teamuganda. The job of the community is to promote Steemit and to do some charity. We have some small projects in line, you can see it here.
This is the one thing.
The other is, that I have invested into Steem. I own 3215 Steempower. (In the moment with a value of only 1465 USD. 2018 was not a good year for us ;-( )
With this I can upvote ten times a day to postings of others with a value of 5 US-Cent (in the moment, it was also 35 Cent in better times of this year). And I do this mainly in Uganda. This means, that I pay the bloggers, which write about the projects that they do. Of course one have to read between the lines, because they work on the projects and simultaneously write about it, but the more people write about it, the better is the picture that I get.

What you can do:
- Invest into steempower (or a similar blockchain)
- Chose some projects to support (i.e. https://steemit.com/promo-steem/@achimmertens/teamuganda-meeting-minutes-20181219)
- Check yourself the progress of the projects or delegate it to others.
