Is Steemit An Empire, Or Is It Decentralized?

That seems to the hot button issue of the year so far! And I think it's time we talk about that.

It appears that anyone with a fat wallet can come into the platform, buy some Steem and start making rules about how Steemit is ran. Unless I was informed incorrectly, Steemit is SUPPOSED to be decentralized with no ruling authority. So what gives people the right to impose their will over others? They do not have that right, but they inflict damages upon others with their voting power, downvoting what they deem not worthy of your time and attention.

So who gets to decide what content you get see? Well it isn't you, if you were wondering, you don't get to make that decision. It is the people with the most Steem and VP that decide that for you, depending upon what mood they may be in at any given time. This kind of behavior is getting out of hand IMO. When the super rich start attacking the charity efforts of others, it is time to call bullshit! This pond we call Steemit, is not owned by anyone one person... it is OUR POND! We make this place what it is. Without content creators, what have we got? Nothing.

And when people are attacking the efforts of others that are helping out with charity to benefit starving orphans, it is time to draw the line. And if you want to see this kind of behavior in action, I call your attention to the following post:

This issue started with one person deciding on how bid bots should be ran. Changing the amount of days one can get a bid on a post, down to 3.5 days instead of 7. Where does that make sense? People can still vote on a post for the 7 day period. And some bid bot owners changed their day limits to 3.5 bending to the wishes of The Emperor, @grumpycat

And now this person downvotes posts about charities and upvotes his own comments at the same time! How is this right? It isn't right! And when you go messing about with YAH, and it's charity efforts, you are messing with peoples lives. And I spend a good deal of time and effort supporting You Are H.O.P.E. and you are messing with my charity efforts!

You can hate me if you like, but I gotta say what I feel is right here. We all have to stand up together and say no more.

The super rich on this platform are still raping the system, every damned day! What ever happened to Human Kindness? Has that trait been bred out and replaced with Greed? I am starting to think so. And before anyone goes hurling insults at me, I have never taken one cent from this platform EVER, I always give back.

Is it so wrong to want to make this world a better place? Am I wrong in this way of thinking? I surely hope not. If that be the case, than there is no HOPE for us as a species and we are doomed. This the kind of behavior will drive people away from Steemit, not bring them in.

Go ahead take your bite out of my ass if you want too, I am a small fry compared to most on this platform.

Hopefully anyone that reads this post will decide to take some action! The time for allowing bullies to rule the day is over.
