M.M. Wolf had been out hunting for the majority of the day and was still to return. Hypersensitivosaurus wasn't stressing out about this or the safety of his friend ( who was a wolf after all ) but he couldn't stop himself from checking his chess app over and over again, to see if his canine friend had moved another piece.
The game was in a crucial phase and M.M. Wolf needed just one more move to K.O. his raptor buddy.
Although he knew better, Li'l Hyper still clung to the tiny chance that M.M. Wolf would come back tired ( possibly even without a prey ) and move the wrong piece. If he could only have one extra move, his King could make its way towards safety.
And then, when he least expected it, his phone notified him of the thing that he had feared the most...
MM Wolf had indeed returned, and checked Li'l Hyper's king. Although Hypersensitivosaurus could still block the queen and delay his demise one more move, it was all over now.
The above screenshot shows you my final move, blocking the queen with my horsy. Soon after, with his next move, @inuke would checkmate me.
I checked the stats and saw it had been one of my worst games ever. Hardly any good moves and a very low accuracy. My Ego kicked in and I told Inuke about it. I then made up for it by telling him that he played a good game.
This li'l story was inspired by the following two lines on our chess.com text chat:
Me: > Did it have to take so long to finish me ( I had to wait a day )
Inuke: > Hahaha.. sorry mate I was out hunting
His use of the verb hunting ( I still got no clue what he's referring to here, he's living in one of the biggest cities in the world ), reminded me of the Mildly Mannered Wolf character that I came up with a couple of months ago, based on my chess gmaes with Inuke.
