This post is just for upgrading my coop—basically talking to myself here so I don’t forget any ideas I’ve thrown in. Feel free to share ideas; this is basically a place for brainstorming. Thank you in advance and happy sharing.
🐔 The chicken Coop size: 28 ft x 40 ft = 1,120 sq ft
✅ Broiler space needs: 2–2.5 sq ft per bird
📋 MATERIALS LIST (Broiler-Focused, Elevated Coop)
🏗️ Elevation & Foundation
Steel or unrustable for the legs
Net for the covers so the chicken can step on and the manure can go down
Need trays under the manure
Chicken Coop Setup Notes ✅
Swings for chickens – For play and relaxation.
💡 Blue insect-repellent lights – One for the house, one for the coop.
🚿 Automatic water system – Provides clean water at all times.
💦 Water filter – Keeps the drinking water safe and clean.
🚰 Big manual water container – Modify by making a refill hole on top for easier access.
🍽️ Outside-connected feeder – Easy to refill from outside the coop.
🛏️ Bedding Setup:
Start with a layer of dry soil on the cement floor. ❌
Top it off with rice husk.❌
Place all fans on the floor to keep the bedding dry.✅
💨 Ventilation fans – All facing bedding area to keep it dry and odor-free.✅
🌿 Transparent zinc roofing – For the outside play area, allowing natural light in.✅
🪵 Wooden fence around the coop:
Cut wood to 2 feet in length. ❌
Bury the pieces vertically to create a standing fence. ❌
🌱 Grass square fencing:
Cut grass area in a square shape like a cage or barrier. ✅
Prevents chickens from wandering too far from the coop.✅
🚛 Motor belakang with double box – Include farm logo art (gambar logo).✅
🧼 Jet spray – For quick and easy cleaning of coop and surrounding area.✅

🔥 Tips:
Use a brooder lamp or heat plate for warmth. Can also use charcoal.
Reduce temperature by 2–3°C weekly as feathers grow.
Observe their behavior:
Huddled = too cold
Panting/spreading wings = too hot
Evenly spread, active = perfect
