Hey dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you have a week so far which has brought some interesting experiences into your life! In my new post I would like to share something about an experience I have collected on my travels and am happy if you can learn new things.
Hong Kong is probably one of the most famous cities in China, but it does not count as part of the mainland and is considered a special administrative region of the country. Hong Kong has its own economic system and is therefore considered one of the most important financial centers of the world and there is its own currency here and people pay here with the Hong Kong dollar or HKD for short. Particularly lucrative in this respect are also some tax advantages which are extremely low and this refers to both income and wealth tax and also separate laws prevail here which differ greatly from the mainland. From an economic point of view, Hong Kong also gives logistics as an important location, which can be attributed to the good location by the sea and it can also be described as a very international center in which numerous foreign companies have settled. The city has an extremely good infrastructure and is also considered very safe and a few years ago there was in this regard an important change in the structure, but it is also often a controversial topic and when it comes to Hong Kong, opinions are often divided and there have been protests in the past.
The city also has a long colonial history and for more than a hundred years it was the territory of the British who were responsible for the creation of some relevant systems and among other things the British built the system of administration there. Numerous other British influences can also be seen here such as certain aspects of architecture, culture, street names or more and it's also interesting that many residents even have a British passport and the children grow up multiculturally. It was only returned to China in 1997, but there are so many British influences, which is why some residents see themselves more as British than Chinese, but opinions differ greatly here. Hong Kong is also very well known for its traditional culture and it is probably a good example of a place where ancient culture is combined with modernity and not to be neglected are all the natural places around the city. Especially lovers of nature will get their time worth here and there are numerous hiking trails, forests or beaches nearby. Hong Kong is extremely diverse but again a completely different world and it's a facade of China which people should definitely see but it is no comparison to the mainland and especially for people who are interested in diversity, this should be the right place and here nature is combined with culture as well as tradition.
