This defender of truth appears to be standing in the clouds of Heaven. He is of the "life" class of warrior and he is willing to fight to defend the truth.
The Truth, The Deception
I've been thinking about what it means to be a defender of truth. Not a defender of "my" truth, but a defender of the TRUTH.
I have not written you because you lack knowledge of the truth, but because you have it, and because no deception comes from the truth. 1 John 2:21
God's word is truth. It's not always easy to spot man's distortions of the truth.
Thinking About Heaven
Perhaps it's not something we think about often, but it's above us all the time and when reading the Holy word, it becomes apparent that it's an important feature and very relevant in our lives. God speaks of 'opening the windows of Heaven' for a blessing (Malachi 3:10), we read about the 'Heavens rolling back like a scroll.' (Isaiah 34:4) These are very important concepts to understand, if we are to know what the bible is teaching us.
Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:1-2
It's so easy to get wrapped up in the cares and concerns of this world that sometimes we forget that there is another world among us and above us. A spiritual world that we only scratch the surface of, and a Heavenly world that exists above us. We have only received small glimpses into this Heavenly world:
Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubim there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne. Ezekiel 10:1
Our Savior, Yeshua is seated at the right hand of the one who sits in this heavenly throne. If we set our minds towards His will, the cares and concerns of this earthly life seem like less of a burden.
Let Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Matthew 6:10
The Glory of the Most High God
The world we live in displays the glory of God and His majesty. The Most High dwells above us in the Highest Heaven, above the Heaven of Heavens.
But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You, how much less this house which I have built! 1 Kings 8:27
The splendor of what the Most High has made goes even beyond what man can imagine.
The throne of God is in the Holy Heaven:
YHVH is in His holy temple; the throne of YHVH is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men. Psalm 11:4
Now I know that YHVH saves His anointed; He will answer him from His Holy Heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. Psalm 20:6
We live in a world of truth, mingled with ideas - both true and false.
How does a person react when truth is trampled upon. When a lie is so widely believed, that the truth seems impossible. We remember:
"Let God be true, yet every man a liar." Romans 3:4
May we reverence His word with fear and trembling and wonder at the marvelous works of God.
