I'm back with another Steem Bible Study session. Today, I'm interested in sharing Matthew 22:35-40.
Pretty simple, right? Pretty short and sweet, right?
We have to begin our pursuit of knowing God by loving God. Realize there is a God. Communicate or build your relationship with him and pray for clarity on who he is and for knowledge of his will for you.
Love thy neighbor.
Let's consider why this would be mentioned right after the "love God" part.
If you love God and you realize God made us all and loves us all... how can we continue on selfishly and always putting our own needs ahead of our neighbors?
Neighbors is an interesting term because it seems to imply randomness, like strangers. We don't help out people who beg loudest or those who are quietly asking. We help those we see needing help. Those struggling to lift a heavy item into the trunk of their car.
This is my interpretation. Please share what God placed on your heart about this passage. Enlighten me and the rest who will read this post / comments section.
Peace.
