Text are from Psalm 23:6 and Mark 10:46-52
Psalm 23: 6
Surely goodness and lovingkindness shall follow me all the days of my life; And I shall dwell in the house of Jehovah for ever
Goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life. What killed others will not kill you, what stopped others will not stop you. Only the goodness and mercy of the Lord almighty will make these things come to pass.
Mercy: The force that transforms everything in your life for your good.
Mark 10:46-48
46 And they come to Jericho: and as he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the way side.
47 And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
48 And many rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
Mercy is a force that nothing can resist. If Jesus couldn't resist having mercy on the blind Bartimaeus. Guess what will happen if you can take that bold step to ask Jesus for mercy. Jericho was a terrible place for such person to stay and beg but goodness took him their. Goodness and mercy works together.
Location, timing and audience were against this very man but goodness and mercy overpowered them all.
He continued to call on Jesus though they told him to keep quiet.
Those people that told him to keep quiet were the same people that Jesus told to bring him for mercy has located him.
He couldn't afford letting mercy pass him by. Verse 50
And he, casting away his garment, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
He threw away the begging garment because mercy has come for his salvation. He knew that there would be no need for the begging garment since mercy has ordered him to write an open check.
V. 51a
And Jesus answered him, and said, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?
What a wonderful God we serve.
"What area of mercy do you need" was the question asked by Jesus. The man just made his single ultimate request.
V. 51b
And the blind man said unto him, Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.
Why did he received his sight.
Faith
So, goodness and mercy needs Faith.
Mercy is the force that can brake protocols.
Immediately he got his request, he began to follow Jesus from that very moment.
V. 52
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And straightway he received his sight, and followed him in the way.
What can attract this Goodness and mercy from following you is you relationship with the almighty i.e faith in him
Prayers: whatever that has been blocking this goodness and mercy from following you I pray for its breaking IJN.
Whatever that has been preventing me from having this supernatural relationship with the almighty God, I decree for its brake down. IJN!
May the grace of God continue to guide us all IJN. AMEN
