"Marriage of persons of the same sex is a crime against humanity. We need to stand up and combat it with all our energy...Gays are the enemy of creation." Those were the words of Victory Tonye Bakot, the Archbishop of Yaounde, Cameroon, some time in 2012.
From the perspective of human psychology, different sexual orientation can be identified. There are majority of heterosexuals adjudged to be natural and normal; the heterosexuals, the bisexuals and those with sexual deviation leading to masturbation, incest, and bestiality etc. As mere psychological disposition, this attract no mortal value. But the question of sexual probity arise when the orientations generate behavior, this is not to rule out the fact that those with abnormal orientations need not seek help to normalize. Of course!, this is because this abnormal orientations, described as intrinsically evil, lead to the morally evil behaviors.
The church position repudiating homosexual behavior has not been without opposition.In defence of gay relationship and reacting to the church's position. John J. McNeil in the church and the Homosexual opines that since gay people experience their sexual orientation as created, to believe that it is therefore a tendency towards evil would require believing in a sadistic God. Nevertheless, the church has remain unfrinching in her position, which represent the truth about God's intention in the creation of man.
EXPLICATION
Gay relationship or homosexuality refers to relationships between people of same sex: male and male or female and female. One will think it bizarre to even imagine, since nature has made the normal very much complete and exclusive enough. This has led some to ascribe any such contra-natural tendency has homosexuality to the devil. Some people would, wishing to appear positive see it as mans ingenuity at exploring novelties. At the other side of the argument the pro-gay see it as natural since biological and psychological disposition differ from person to person: making some hetero-sexual and others homosexual or bisexual.
MALE AND FEMALE HE CREATED THEM
If human sexuality, that free and beautiful gift from God by which male is distinguish from female. Making room for complementarities, the concrete realization of 'unity' in marriage, then the very nature and aim of marriage must be eroded by homosexuality since unity and complementarities are totally unrealizable . The marital act entails fusing together of two, to bring completeness in each other. Since the fundamental disparity is absent, gay union cannot qualify as marriage.
According to the creation account, the creator made them male and female and commanded them to "be fruitful and multiply". This command must have been provided for by the basis of sexual deffrences. Let us imagine that all we're gay. How will the human species be propagated? If we say that some were made homosexual and cannot but live that way, then they must be different kind of humanity operating on different natural laws. To argue that the tendency is natural and should be accommodated is to say that insanity, imbecility and some other pathological ailments especially those that occur from birth should be recognize and even encouraged. Whereas, while such people remain humans and deserve respect of such natural human right, they are given some special remedial at tensions. Likewise those with homosexual orientation are human and therefore deserve human dignity while society searches out ways to salvage their condition.
HOMOSEXUALITY AND MARRIAGE
Some allusion has already been made to error in qualifying gay relationship as marriage. The overwhelming demonstration is that the institutor of marriage, God himself, never made it that way, Jesus teaching authoritatively as the summit of devine revelation, explains that God made them from the beginning male, and female, providing for the unity and indisolubility of marriage. (Ma. 10:6-9) The ends of marriage has been identified to include the good of the spouses and procreation and eduacation of the offspring. One practical question for the pro-gay will be, how is procreation possible in a gay home? A child who is adopted into auch parentage is to say the least, unfortunatesince he/she will be deprive of paternity and maternity in the real sense. In these a whole lot is involve. The love and cares of a mother and those of the father have quite different emotional and psychological pecularites which enrich the child growing experience. Even the interpersonal relatuonship among the parents have enermous impresion on the child and invaluable influence on his/her sovialization process. See what a child in a gay home is deprived of ! How he/she even developed gender roles to be a father or mother in the future ? There are therefore no home role models for the child. Gay is irresponsible and unjust. Partners are themselves fruit of some heterosexual intimacy. To conceive of gay union is to abscorn from responsibility. Some who involve in it may actually seek to avoid the responsibility of possible pregnancy. To aprove of it is injustice against those who accepted the heavy demand of marriage and procreation.
SOME INSIGHT FROM SCRIPTURE
It will not be far from the truth to say that homosexuality is one of the direct consequences of rejecting God Gen. 19: 1-29.
This portion of the Bible narrates the lust of the people of Sodom and Gomorrah for the angels who appeard as men and were shelters by lot. In the holiness code of the Israelites, God warns stainly against such abominable practices which will be in imitation of the pagans, a strange culture never found among the people of God. (Lev.18:20. 20:13).
In our modern world, secularism as become has become the culture if the day: God is being gradually eliminated from public life; religion is more of a private affair and even becoming detasteful to many. What is entrone is human autonomy, science and technology in a nutshell. They is a direct attack against God in the forms of anti-life idealogies and practices.
EPILOGUE
I would, on a personal note which that the much talked about gay-issiue we're a fairy tail or some wide speculation of some 'lazy' mind. Sadly, the reality of this menance as such an overwhelming global influence even to the secret corners of rural areas. All must be alert to resist the devils temptations however they come. The dignity of marriage must be safeguarded. This dignity lay in it device institution and intention. Inter alia, the intention of God for marriage will include: to manifest his love and communal nature; mutual assistance that opens up to internal happiness; procreation and education of offspring; sign and instruments of grace in Christ; sign and force of unity/dignity in the world; to give dignity to sexual intimacy; to preserve both individual and cooporate dignity, etc gay relationship is in human and unnatural. It is evil in its very nature.
