The mall is full of shoppers
Looking for last minute bargains
Banners and advertisements
Filled the corridors
Full of discounts and special offers
Have fun while you are on your shopping spree
The sidewalk is gayly lighted
Christmas trees lined the streets
Music and laughter filled the air
It’s the holiday season
A reason to be jolly
Let us get ready for our party
As we joined in the merry making
Have we forgotten?
The true meaning of Christmas
On a night full of stars
Tucked away in a depilated manager
A special baby was born
While mankind was still unaware
The angels in heaven rejoice
The son of God became man
He who would transformed the world
He who would turn darkness into light
His love saved the whole world
So on this Christmas day
As family and friends joined together to celebrate Christmas
Let us reflect on the true meaning of Christmas
The baby born on this day who become our savior
Who then sacrificed himself on the cross
So that all of us can have eternal lives.
About This Poem
Christmas has become so commercialized nowadays with retailers all over the world making use of this season to increase their sales. It has also become the season to have fun, host parties, decorate our homes with Christmas trees and trimmings and cook turkeys for dinners. But when all this fun and merry making takes precedence over Jesus Christ who was born on this day, we have lost the true meaning of Christmas. Therefore let us take this time on focus on Jesus and what he has done for us this year and all the years before. And on this Christmas Eve, I prayed that Jesus will continue to be with you all and bestow blessings to you and your family.
