I was told a story several years ago, so strange, so thought provoking & so sad. A master had a slave who needed to attend an occasion in a far away land, so he gave her a very adorable jewel so she would appear nice for the occasion.
Somehow, she misplaced the jewel & did not know what to tell her master, so she decided to work very hard in that far away land to make enough money to buy the jewel. She worked so hard, years passed, she grew old due to hard labour.
She was able to buy the jewel, & returned to her master who asked why she stayed back so long. She explained everything. Then the shocking reply came from her master, "in our land, that jewel only cost 1 kobo", why waste your life to acquire it?
Many of us are like that woman, we spend our lives in hard labour at work seeking the things of this world we esteem so valuable but costs nothing in the life hereafter. Imagine, if you had spent that amount of zeal for Jesus, how much more real treasure would you have stored in heaven.
Let us reconsider our priorities in life and give God the true worship & service He deserves. Let us come back to him in repentance for the salvation we misplaced. It will be to our benefit in the end.
May our life on earth not be a waste in Jesus name.
