The mysterious 2016 Cicada 3301 message
On January 5th, 2016 (the Feast of the Epiphany), a strange video called FOUND was released on Youtube featuring a "Danse Macabre" fresco from Ravenna, Italy.
The solvers "found" this interesting, to say the least.
Hours later, the Cicada 3301 Twitter account https://twitter.com/1231507051321 made a final tweet with the directive "Seek and Be Found".
Days later, after a DDoS attack on Infotomb — the storage facilitator for Cicada 3301's message — the Youtube video's title mysteriously changed to 314.
When Found plays in slow motion, there is a QR code at exactly 33 seconds.
That QR code connects to Pi Mobi, a puzzle that caused chaos in the Cicada 3301 community.
Since the Found 314 video went up more than 10 hours BEFORE Cicada 3301's last authenticated tweet, we must consider the Pi Mobi puzzle creators to be authentic 3301.
Furthermore, we believe the tweet from Cicada 3301 was scheduled in advance by Ian Murdock, who had passed away on December 28th, 2015 at the age of 42.
Now that we have conclusively proven the "Found" video predated the final tweet from Cicada 3301 — and thus Pi Mobi is clearly Cicada 3301 — let's concentrate on the second rock-solid piece of evidence.
The phrase Empty Path was used in BOTH the video and then the tweet.
What are the chances of both the word FOUND and the words Empty Path being used in the Found/314 video and hours later in the verified Cicada 3301 twitter account?
So what happened AFTER the Cicada 3301 tweet of January 5th 2016 — well, Infotomb was DDoS'd.
But not before the content was captured

What did Cicada 3301 mean by using the words FOUND and EMPTY PATH?
To be found implies you must first be lost.
Then, another blackbox appeared within minutes of Cicada 3301's January 2016 tweet — and it also used the word PATH!
Obstruct injustice? Perhaps the death of Ian Murdock weeks before — and then the DDOSing of Infotomb's Cicada 3301's message — prompted Cicada to respond immediately.
Back to the words "Seek and be Found" and "Path".
Paths can be personal, temporal, emotional, intellectual and physical. To start to get into the mindset of the Cicada 3301 pilgrimage, let's begin with an article published by Iona Miller 60 days after the launch of the Cicada 3301 puzzle in 2012.
