Hi fellow Coffee Lovers,
Today I wanted to see if anyone else has tried this type of preparation and if you like it? My wife loves it! Lol

Mortared
So my wife and I got into coffee a few years ago with the birth of our son, we needed the extra alertness when he wasn’t sleeping well which lasted probably a year. Now that he sleeps better though, we’ve become addicted to the stuff. I had to stop drinking it for a while and it was really difficult to give it up but you gotta do what you gotta do lol.
One of the things that we’ve been doing for the whole time is buying coffee that had already been ground for us. We have a blender and it works but it was easier to have the stuff already ground for you instead of doing it yourself. That forcefully changed though a few weeks ago when we were trying to explore new kinds of coffee and bought some different ones. We absolutely love Lavazza Italian coffee, it’s got such a great flavor and it’s not too strong. What is a little tough though is we couldn’t find it in a good decaf. I know the process for making coffee decaf is blaspheme to some but we are trying to drink less stimulants and save our bodies while we still can lol. That led us to buy some different ones!
A few packages to by and we bought the latest one but what we didn’t realize was the stuff was whole bean! We were like shit what are we going to do with this? My wife mistakenly brewed it in a drip pot without grinding it end it was just a hint of darkness in the water, meaning completely useless lol. We were at a loss as to what the hell we were gonna do to get the stuff ground up.
We bought a granite mortar and pestle many years ago and it was just sitting there in the cabinet collecting dust for a few years until we needed it last year. Since then we’ve used it a few times but this recent attempt has gotten the most use out of it ever! My wife asked me where the thing was when she was trying to figure out what to do and I was confused at what she was getting at. Sure enough she dumped some in and started grinding it down! I was skeptical at the notion and it took us a pot or two to realize that you really have to grind it down in order to make it drinkable. Once I started to grind it way down she said it was fantastic!
Has anyone ever used a mortar and pestle to grind their coffee? Do I have a coffee shop idea for the most obnoxious rich area we can find and convince the elite folks that grinding your coffee with a mortar and pestle is the most incredible, delicious way that you can even sip on the heavenly beverage, since it also combines with the sweat of the peasant that’s grinding it along with any other remnants of whatever was ground in the stone.
Sounds like a good marketing pitch doesn’t it? Lol
Has anyone tried it though? She said it’s amazing!
