Kapeng Barako or roasted coffee was a new trend for me today. I've been so obsessed of learning how to make coffee with kapeng barako if I don't have coffee filter but instead I used a cloth.
Last week I've recieved roasted coffee as a pasalubong from Batangas. Brewing coffee was hard to do because I don't have coffee maker or even strainer. Luckily I have a french press here and watch some tutorials how to do it right. All I know that the use of French press was just to froth milk. So today let me share how I did my first coffee session.
Milk froth
I warmed my milk but not boiled then I pour it in my french press. I press it many times making sure it can have a decent bubbles enough to pour on my coffee.
Brewing Coffee
1.I measured 3 tbsp kapeng barako with 3 cups of water. I let it sit for few minutes before putting it in the stove.
2.I let it boil for 5 minutes on low medium heat. Keep an eye into it so it won't spill overtime.
3.I Strain it using an old sheet of cloth and gently pour the coffee while it is still hot.
4.After the coffee was on the mug, I gently pour the milk and see that strong coffee matters to achieve a better tasting coffee.
This is how it looks like when I pour the mlik. I really wanted to practice the skill of baristas when designing their art of coffee. Anyways I just used a regular powder milk maybe that's why my milk didn't have more bubbles. But over all I love it and I will definetely do it again soon. I hope you'd find time reading my blog today. Keep safe and have a good day!
XOXO,
Rachelle
Ps. It's hard to capture these photos all by myself. Even though I wanted to be more specific and detailed in everything, my effort still in practice.
