good afternoon my fellow steemians how’s your week been, how’s ya friday? we just headed into town to take a trip out and grab some lunch, we decided on the buffet chinese, always good value and always a good filling meal to set you up for the rest of the day.
right now i’m writing to your, internet less from a cafe that just won’t make it into my ‘regular’ book because of the wifi not working. now, i know what ya thinking well, just treat it as a coffee break and take time out don’t use ya laptop and actually just have a conversation with your beloved other.
to be fair we all have different reasons for spaces, the ideal for me after lunch would be to have a two hour crushing window on my blog but now i’m kinda just left a little deflated from the fact the wifi is down here, one of those things that will stay with me when i make future decisions on coffee.
the problem is it’s really easily fixable. when i was in a nearby city i suggested we put in a properly managed AP (access point) to deal with the wifi network traffic of a very active coffee space. not only that but capturing data and reviewing that data — a proper dashboard cloud login dashboard that allows you to see how busy the space was.
you could put it on the same ‘toilet’ list that you see on the back of doors in pubs and bars, the one where they check the toilets, all they would need to do is check that the login page loads for the router or even just have an internet plug to reboot the power point where the router is.
Ubiquiti Networks - UniFi® AP is one of the networks i put together in nottingham and that worked out pretty awesome.
also, the benefit of having a managed AP outweighs not having a decent, secure and stable internet connection, the longer people are there the more chance they will buy coffee and food and stay longer, people inside the business make it look good for people outside too (looks popular) for people just passing through.
it’s a space that’s always rapidly changing, the game changers for me were Cisco Meraki in this space but the gear was super expensive and they were always developing a new box every other month and it was near on impossible to keep up, you can still get some discount quality dashboards for managing your coffee shop network.
kinda in a bit of a dead space this afternoon, normally i’d be picking bella up but she’s going to some kind of party with her friends and having a sleep over so i’ll be seeing her tomorrow and sunday instead which is kinda awesome because we have had a clear run of this week.
looks like the crypto markets are picking up again this afternoon too which is awesome, i just played with an iPhone x with dale for the first time as well, the emoji thing was especially cool, kinda pointless and fun but all the same, super slick buttery phone — i was more impressed with the pixel 2 from google, i think i could get decent video and photos from that.
i also looked for a new jacket as my other one is on it’s final days i think, i’ve had the other one for years and while it’s been a fantastic jacket it’s time for an upgrade i think, the zip has gone and it’s just well kinda scruffy, the price of them right now is good too, saw one for £77 that i’m gonna save for — i’m calling it the Bulgaria jacket for now! :)
we quickly called into the health shop to see if they had any discounts on, they had some turmeric to give that a test out, you have to have a couple a day so we will see how that works out, i know the cod liver oil work for me and keep me less creaky and let me be a little bit more fluid.
we had a great debate between bus stops about things to do with time and experiences, collaboration and what that looked like for creatives and artists in the future, the time tracking feature of a blockchain is certainly going to be a major part in everything we do day to day.
how we spend our time and where, in fact, i think up until now we have been getting away with it pretty scott free as human beings in countries where we have human rights, obviously we have a way to go in others.
but i’ve really been thinking about time recently, how to get the most of it, how to be motivated, how to keep on top of that balance, to really dig deep to what we really want and need, what we can leave behind when we are gone, i’m feeling the building up inside to do something of substance.
of course you need resources and money to do that but what if you could DESIGN your life around your time rather then live out your life based on the time you have left because of earning money? blockchain has certainly flipped my complete thinking about how i live out my days.
do you feel the same? how is blockchain effecting you on a daily basis already and where do you see that going? what are you waiting for to improve and benefit you in your life?
