A LaMia company plane crashed tonight in Colombia. The apparatus from Bolivia suffered an "emergency" when approaching the airport Jose Maria Córdoba (Medellín). The official Twitter account of the terminal has been in charge of offering some details such as that on the plane were traveling 72 passengers plus nine crew.
For the moment, the airport itself has confirmed that inside that aircraft, the Bolivian company LaMia, was the Brazilian football team Chapecoense, the first division. After a few moments of confusion in Colombia about the existence or not of survivors, the national police displaced in the scene of the incident report that at the moment they have found six people alive, although local media like Caracol Radio speak of ten survivors. AFP reports that 25 people have been identified.
The Colombian press affirms that the soccer player Alan Luciano Rusel is in the list of survivors. The 27-year-old left-back would be the first wounded to reach the hospital to be treated for head trauma. Team masseur and goalkeepers Danilo and Jakson Follmann would also be among the survivors.
The "emergency", as the airport is defining what has happened to the plane, originated when the aircraft was flying through the Cerro Gordo sector of the municipality of La Union, in the east of Antioquia. The reasons behind the tragedy are not yet known, but rumors point to an electrical failure or lack of fuel.
It seems that poor weather conditions make it impossible for the rescue teams to travel through the air and can only go to the site by land with 4x4 vehicles. About 150 people work there.
