When a baby starts learning how to walk, he/she falls down sometimes. Then get up and eventually start walking. You have legs, you can stand up and walk. You can do that because you know and get used to keeping your body balance. If you lose your balance, you can fall down on the ground like a baby.
In a street fight, you do not want to get on the ground and have a ground fight. If you fall down on the street, it's hard and solid. You will get hurt. There is no mat on the street. There is a high chance you will get injured. So you want to stand up and fight for self defense.
If somehow you fall on the ground, stand up as soon as you can because the attacker will not stop attacking you even when you are on the ground. Now when the attacker attacks you, you can defend his strike, make him fall down on the ground in order to defend yourself.
So how can you make the attacker fall down on the ground? Let's watch this video.
When you see a martial art expert explaining something very well, you do not have much to say. His techniques and explanation are enough to understand how to do it. I just felt like that when I watched this video.
He is honest and shows what really works in a fight for self defense. No fancy stuff. Did you see he said, don't fall for me, I'll throw you? In a demonstration what might happen is, the opponent falls down on his own to show how it works if the instructor hits him. But if the instructor makes the opponent fall on the ground using the techniques, it shows whether it really works or not. That's for real.
It looks simple how he moves but if you watch carefully, you will notice how he places this leg and positions his body to make it work. If you are able to off-balance your opponent, he /she will fall down. If you place your leg to the side of his leg and sweep. He will not be able to stand anymore. You have to know how to sweep and which direction you should go.
Before taking control of another body, make sure you have control on your body. If you lose balance, you cannot apply this technique properly.
