Picture this.
You wake up in the morning and pop on Peakd to conjure up a post about the strange dream you had that saw you and John Wick…no not Keanu, but JOHN Frickin WICK, running an ice cream parlor in Antarctica. It’s a strange post I’ll admit, but well received and gets curated by all the big whales earning you tons of that delicious Hive.
After this trending classic pays out, you take some of that yummy yummy Hive, and pop over to my snazzy website that is a collectors wet dream. It’s there that you peruse the statues, comic books, cards, games, action figures, Pops, and various random dogshit that is stocked there. That’s when you see it…yup! It’s a Stay Puft Marshmellow Man Air Freshener that would look perfect in that windowless van you creepily cruise around town in.
Shit…but now you see the Adventure Time Mad Libs Pins that you never knew you needed. That along side the Pokémon Pikachu Promo card, the Lord of the Rings Balrog Light Up Bust, and a CGC 3.5 graded copy of Iron Man #1. You want it all but you dropped all of your cash stocking up on Splinterlands Runi’s. Way to go dipshit!
But that’s when the coolest shit ever happens. For you see, on this wondrous site…you add those items to your cart…then through the magic of Hive Keychain, BAM! You just bought a boatload of cool physical merchandise using the Hive you earned by blogging nonsense. Or maybe you used your SPS staking rewards for the past week to pay. I don’t know…I’m just saying that I ain’t picky as this nerd paradise accepts all sorts of tokens from our ecosystem.
But alas…I wake to find that this website is all but a dream as well. For now…but that’s where a talented Hive Developer can come in to save the day and be my superhero. For ya see, I’m a complete dipshit when it comes to all of this. I sadly am useless when it comes to doing anything with coding. I can rattle off what shitty actor stared in that failed 80’s sitcom with startling accuracy and speed, but that’s sadly where my talent in this world ends.
Therefore, I am looking for someone who can help me make this dream a reality. I have spoken to 7 devs thus far, and while most of them claim it’s a fairly simple process…nobody has jumped at this joyous opportunity yet as I’m sure they are all busy on their own projects.
What I’m looking for exactly is someone who can help me take a basic e-commerce site built on Shopify, and somehow shoehorn a way for folks here in the Hive ecosystem to be able to checkout easily using Hive Keychain. I want to be able to accept credit cards and most likely PayPal for the normies that want their fix of Star Wars toys…but for us weirdo’s dabbling in crypto, I want there to be an option catering specifically to this crowd as well.
I know Shopify has some plug in options for major tokens like Btc & Eth, but I really love the idea of giving our blockchain here some love. As a 5 year avid user and supporter of all the groovy things Hive has to offer, I’m excited for the possibility of giving some of the tokens in our ecosystem some more use cases. Plus, most of my disposable income I generate by selling off my personal items heads directly back into this dump anyway. Win win!
Being a long time 30 plus year collector, alongside having one of the most badass collectible shops on the planet…I’m 100% positive that I can stock this site full of thousands upon thousands of various kickass awesome merchandise for folks to spend their Hive, SPS, Leo, DEC, and other tasty tokens on.
I’ve also spoken to a few other folks such as @reseller that are eager to see something like this come to fruition. I know that mofo is busy living up to his name and would potentially be interested in using this as well. Perhaps others on chain that have their own businesses could utilize this for their sites, and open up the door for even more reasons for folks to get involved and earn on Hive. If I can get this going with your help, I have a ton of really cool ideas that could help dart the eyes of the comic book crowd in our direction.
