Back in 1996, Peter Milligan gave Elektra her first storyline for her very first solo issue. Mike Deodato, Jr. and Christie Scheele ensured that all of the martial arts action jumped off each page. The picture is painted that someone is watching Elektra during this entire issue. Her skills impress Konrad Weiss, owner of a theater in Manhattan. Because she needs some money, Elektra takes a job as a dancer in which Konrad plans on building a show around.
She lives her life clouded in darkness with conversations with Stick, her mentor. She almost led a normal life, but her father was murdered. She was in love with Matt Murdock, or as comic fans know him, Daredevil. She became part of The Hand in an act of rebellion against The Chaste, when this Tibetan sect rejected her. She even killed for the Kingpin. All of this eventually left her for dead after a conflict with Bullseye.
With her trust fund dwindling, Elektra is finding it hard to keep up with the expenses of the dojo run by Sensei Lau and Sensei Stewart. While she was responsible for setting Wolverine back on the right path, Elektra's own life is about to spiral out of control. This is especially true because she is being spied on by Bullseye and something tells me he wants to finish what he started! This story led to many exciting adventures in the years to come for Daredevil's ex-lover!
