Dear Steemit friends,
Herewith, I would like to introduce you about the Bireuen Steemit Community (BSC) —where I joined in, which is a small and humble Steemit bloggers association of Bireuen, a coastal district of Aceh province in Indonesia situated in west part of the famous Malacca strait.
BSC just founded in 1st January 2018 ago, through the meeting attended by around 20's local bloggers actively in Steemit (thanks @steem77 to help us in this). Despite its establishment which only a few days old, the idea of this organisation in fact has been there since a year ago; initiated by mere a WhatsApp group (WAG). Since then, the organisation prototype built-up step by step from the scratch.
Along with the increased of WAG membership, some colleagues took some initiative to do gathering and promotion to close friends and various institution such colleges, and even for nurses in local hospital. 😁
The need and aim for BSC hardened during the writing workshop in 12th November 2017 where most of participants agreed to set-up a formal Steemit bloggers association here at the district level.
BSC's logo was designed in collaboration of @dsatria and @abunagaya. The pillar like obelisk represent the small landmark in the heart of town, erected by locals who commemorate the people struggle against Dutch colonial in war for Indonesian independence. The yellow tip of pillar is illustrating yellow chempaka's bud known as the district floral emblem. Old saying, Bireuen was called a "land of chempaka" or Nanggroë Jeumpa in kingdoms era.
BSC's acronym was written in combination colours of dark and light blue, represent the colour of Steemit logo; while the streams at the background of pillar to represent our aim toward progress of organisation and community as a whole.
Honestly, the BSC establishment were never be apart of the Nanggroë Steemit Community (NSC) roles and helps, a sister (and bigger 💪 for sure) Steemit bloggers organisation based in Lhokseumawe. As some founders of BSC basically registered in NSC and gained the Steemit knowledge in there as well.
BSC already set up the 2 boards within organisation; the executive boards consist of @bahagia-arbi as the chairman, @rshahputra (me) as the secretary and @albertjester as the treasurer; and the advisory boards consisting of @razack-pulo, @dokter-purnama, @dodybireuen, @barvon, @silvia, and @ayijufridar. The rest is the community members which will be grouping based on interest and talents.
Right now, BSC accommodating around 143 registered members with various genres in writings, photography and video making. There is also a sub-community called the SBC Piranha's Crew which set up for newbie learning.
BSC considered them self as a part of Indonesian Steemit Community called "Komunitas Steemit Indonesia" or KSI, leading by the dynamic-duo @levycore and @aiqabrago. Hence, BSC is eligible to be entitled with the official name "KSI Chapter Bireuen."
BSC has a vision to be a leading Steemit community with the largest content creator in quality in Indonesia. In order to achieve it, BSC sets the mission of organisation as follow:
- Steemit Promotion
- Member Education
- Social out reach activities
In the near future, BSC also have a plan to attain the legal status for organisation in accordance to Indonesian law requirements.
