Hello, Steemit. @bethalea here with all kinds of teh feelings. As you may be aware, the @tuck-fheman blog and therefore the @SPL Community as a whole found themselves downvoted heavily yesterday. Some people and communities may have reacted differently, but with Tuck in the lead, @spl members took the high road and managed to turn a negative situation into a positive growth experience.
Through Adversity Comes Strength
I’ve learned that it isn’t whether or not bad things happen in your life, it’s how you handle those things that matter. SPL and friends rose to the challenge yesterday, in droves, managing to stay positive, connected and to ultimately become bigger and stronger.
The Steemit Poker League, as a whole, showed solidarity and dedication. Our discord channel was on fire with people coming together and troubleshooting how best to help. Some made videos:
And many, many others came out with other ideas like hosted tournaments (thanks @jpederson96), offers of donations came from all sectors and everyone vehemently affirming that there was NO WAY @SPL was going down.
Thank You
Major support came from others, @spl friends @themarkymark and @berniesanders for instance, who have made it possible for the @SPL to survive during this time of difficulty and upheaval. It’s easy to say thank you after you’ve come to our aid, however our thanks is heartfelt and genuine. You guys should come play with us!
What Now?
Now, we PLAY my friends! We have, due to the ridiculous amount of exposure we received from the discussions that occurred on Steemit yesterday, had an unprecedented number of new members! So if you haven’t yet, here’s how to register:
Rules and Regulations!
- You need a Reputation on Steemit of 30 or higher, and must be an actual, active member of the platform.
- You must have a valid, appropriate introduction post, with a picture and a date, to show that you are in fact a real live person. If you don’t want to show your face, fine, you can be creative, just make sure we know you’re real
- Register at lucksacks.com and MAKE SURE your email address AND your Steemit name are correct. Please, if you have any love for me at all, please make sure you remember your password!
- Come to our discord channel and let us know you’re ready to play!
If you have recently registered and your account reads ‘pending’ and you can check off all of the above, have a bit of patience please as we manually check each new member to make sure everything is gravy.
