Computer-aided design and manufacturing CAD / CAM is a method that studies the use of computer systems as a support tool in all processes involved in the design and manufacture of a product. CAD systems allow industrial design engineers to see objects under a wide variety of representations as well as simulate these objects in real-world conditions
Computer Aided Design is the technology involved in the use of computers defined by geometric parameters to execute creation, modification, analysis and optimization of a design. Any application that includes a graphical interface and performs engineering tasks is considered CAD software. CAD equipment ranges from geometric modeling tools to custom applications for the analysis or optimization of a product. Between these two extremes are modeling tools and observations of tolerances, calculations of physical properties (mass, volume, moments ...) modeling and finite element analysis, assembly ... The main function in these tools is the definition of the design geometry.
