It's difficult to be an indigenous person on the Fourth of July. So many massacres and broken treaties.
Decades of land theft and cultural destruction. Leading us to this point where we are told that indigenous people crossing an imaginary line deserve to be interned in concentration camps.
Let that one soak in for a second, because it's important to understand that the people in these concentration camps are in large part indigenous people from central and South America.
This cannot be overstated as they do not speak Spanish, nor do they speak English. These people would have rather not left their homelands. The media is quick to put a face on a civilized latinx, but the indigenous refugee is scorned.
We are watching as a genocide unfolds on our homelands, only if you are native it has been ongoing for five hundred years. Now we see plainly, and the unmasked hatred being poured onto our relatives tears at our hearts.
The repeated attacks on our morals has degraded our response to these dehumanizing acts to the point where we easily turn a blind eye to the worst atrocities. Rape, murder, child abuse, starvation and dehydration. We fund these acts in the USA, we pay private contractors to inflict it on children.
Just because they had the bad luck to be born on the wrong side of an imaginary line. Aside from that bad luck of being born in the wrong place we are the same.
