The biggest cryptocurrency event in the world, known as "Consensus" is set to begin tomorrow.
Not only is it the biggest conference in the world in terms of attendance as well as who these attendees are, but this year is expected to be significantly bigger than previous record setting years.
And to be honest, it's not even going to be close.
Last year, the previous most well attended event, had just under 3k people attend the conference.
This year it is looking like over 8k will attend.

This was posted a few days ago and it looks like that number keeps climbing.
It appears interest surrounding the event keeps on heating up.
Here are the google search trends related to the event as well:

What effect might this conference have on the crypto markets?
I'm glad you asked!
If history is any indication, the answer is that it will likely have a significantly positive impact on the crypto markets.
Especially if this year's conference is roughly 3X as large.

Does 3X as large mean 3X the impact?
Not sure about that, but if that was the case we could expect to see something like this:

Or here, this is perhaps a slightly more clearer representation about what to possibly expect:

All that being said, keep in mind that when everyone expects something to happen, it often does not happen.
However, the fact that this conference is so much larger than years past, and the fact that crypto is down significantly year to date, leads me to believe there is a very good chance that history repeats and we have a very good next several weeks/months.
Plus, we can't forget about this:

May and June tend to be pretty good months for bitcoin and crypto.
