A holiday cookie exchange has been going on in my neighborhood as long as I have lived for the past 25 years. This year I decided to make a few different ones to add to my cookie gifting trays. It has been a lot of work over the past two weeks getting ready, yet, a lot of fun in the kitchen.
Christmas Cookies
These are the cookies that I decided to include in the trays this Christmas. Actually, they are some of my favorites to make which makes it an enjoyable experience. Everyone loves receiving the cookies and we get to enjoy tasting all the neighbor's favorite ones too.
Ready Set Go!
I have all the cookies out on trays and ready for the cookie tin assembly. I still have plenty more in large bins but I think this will be enough to do the eight that I need.
The Assembling Begins
I found the perfect-sized tin trays with a Poinsettia pattern to use for the trays. Once they were washed and dried I began layering the cookies starting with the largest ones for the base. I continued with the layers until I used up all the cookies. I think the assortment I chose this year made for a pretty presentation.
Shrinkwrapping
Usually, I purchase cellophane gift bags to put the trays in but somehow forgot to pick some up while I was shopping. Thankfully, I have shrink wrap from my soapmaking days that I could use to make my own.
Little Gift Bags
There were a few leftovers so I found some small bags that I could put them in. Sometimes we have a surprise visitor during Christmas week and it is always nice to have something to give them. That reminds me that I have a hair appointment Monday and I can bring one to the hairdresser.
In another upcoming post I will share some recipes from the cookies posted here. I hope you have a wonderful holiday week ahead and thank you for stopping by today.
Until next time, this is Sunscape
