I don't remember when exactly it was that I was into drawing again, could've been the early days of this chain, but I remember back then researching and looking into markers to colors my sketches. I think most people who are into this know that the Copic markers stand out quite from the rest due to their quality and consistency. This however comes at a cost, of course.
Recently this changed a bit, and no, not cause of the markets turning a bit greener, but due to my location I noticed the price difference here in Asia compared to Europe was quite big. In Finland these markers cost up to €9 each and while I haven't checked what the sets cost, most likely cheaper, but there's no way they could compete with the prices here of a bit under $5 each so I had to get a box set while I could. If I get back into art again I may go for the other 2 sets to complete them but for now the first one seemed good enough and I'll have to worry about transporting them back to Europe later.
Anyway, I'm pretty excited so I had @hiddenblade take some shots of them with her camera. Do note though that the extra papers I ordered that go well with them haven't arrived yet so I just tested them on this random sketchpad hidden had laying around here that was a bit yellow-ish.
I also got these multiners, most are in gray so that when I color on top they won't be as visible in the end.
Had to make sure my reflection wasn't gonna doxx me here. 😂
Still hadn't even removed the plastic here yet looking at them in amazement. xD
Look at all these colors! 😍
The "Sketch" version of the markers are some of the most popular ones, you can both replace the nibs over time and refill them and they hold quite a bit of color compared to the "Ciao" version.
Me and @hiddenblade trying them out a bit, some lines, the Hive logo of course and then a little blending test with the different orange colors. Can't wait for my paper to arrive to give them a proper go, in the mean time I'm probably going to warm up on sketching. We were also a bit confused if some colors had the wrong cap on as you can see in the image below Peach looks a lot more like Pink, that's a mystery to be solved another time with some googling to see if it has occurred to others and checking the rest of the pens if it's occurring more often.
Anyway, just wanted to post about this real quick. At the same time I've been quite excited knowing now that POSH PETS is closer to finalization and becoming real, it's almost made me consider maybe at some point releasing my own collection and how cool wouldn't it be if it was hand-made. ^^
Who knows when I'll have time, so much still going on with Hive and some of my projects here and others, hope to at least make some time to get back to sketching and now having some of the best markers out there to color my stuff with - once I learn how to do that properly too. Will be a lot of fun either way!
Thanks for reading!
